Water Softener Service Decatur Tx-(940) 389-6850

One of our long standing customers called and said Jim you need to get out here my wife's dishes are white and she is not happy.  Uh oh, I know what that means, if momma's not happy no body is happy and if daddy's not happy no body cares.  So we got out there right away and started our investigation.  I took the valve apart and low and behold what did I find?  PVC glue stuck in the piston and the seals and spacers.  Now usually you will find this if an inexperience technician or someone else who did some plumbing using some pvc glue did not put the water softener in bypass and flush out the glue before putting it in service.  Well I was not the inexperienced technician because I learned the hard way one night, yes I said one night.  It was the night before Thanksgiving and I had just installed a water softener that took all day with all the trenching and what not and I did not know to put the system in bypass before I flushed out the lines, well needless to say I had to come back and clean out the pvc glue from the valve because it was not working.  Lesson learned.  In this case it was pvc glue that had broken loose from the inside of the pipes and had gotten in the valve.  Moral of this story, if you decide to do your own plumbing before your water softener or if your water well guys come out and do something to your well that requires using pvc glue you may want to put the watersoftener in bypass and flush out the lines to an outside faucet and wait for the water to foam a little and wait to see the peices of glue before you put it into service so you won't have to call someone to come fix the watersoftener or worse yet, let your wife get a white film on the dishes, it's not worth the hassle.  You can also call us for your water well work because we know what it's like to have an unhappy momma! and we are also licensed for water well work too.  You can check us out at www.allamericanwaterwell.com or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsdMRlL3MlE or just call us at (940) 389-6850

We got a call that there was a leak in the well house coming from the water softener so we went out and found that the salt tank was over flowing with water.  This hardly ever happens since there is a mechanism that turns the brine piston (or the device that puts water into the salt tank) and shuts it off after so many minutes.  Well when I took the tube loose to see what was going on there was water coming out even when the system was in service.  I had not seen this before but knew what the cause was.  Whenever there is water either going to the drain or something like this situation it is the piston and the seals and spacers.  We took out the piston and carefully inspected the seals that surround the piston and found a little tear in two of the seals.  We replaced the entire kit and viola no more water going into the salt tank.  It sure made a mess on the floor though and so I would recommend that as you put salt into your salt tank take a look to see where your water level is, if it is near the top then perhaps you have a problem and I would suggest you call your water softener service company or you can call us at (940) 389-6850 and we will be right out to get your water soft again.

We got a call Saturday evening just as we were leaving for a wedding.  We have no water can you come out and help us the guy said, so after the wedding we came out and found they had no water.  We came back on sunday and tried a couple of things to get the water pulled into the casing but no luck.  Bad news!  We have to drill a new well.  The current well was at 170 feet, I looked at the well logs in that area and we had to go to about 300 feet.  Wow what a difference and what a smack in the face with the bill, but there was nothing I could do but give them the best break we could.  So we drilled  them a new well and I sure gave them a discount, so much of a discount that I basically broke even, but that's okay, we believe if you take care of people they will take care of you.  So we got the well drilled the new pump set and they had plenty of water, so much that we let if flow open discharge for over an hour and it put out between 10-12 gallons a minute.  It is a great well and we are glad to have another satisfied customer who now has great water.  If it seems you are running out of water give us a call and let us see if we can help you by using some of our techniques to get you into water.

We had some folks call us to see how much it would be to replace a pump, I told the lady how much it was and she hung up.  Not five minutes later she called back and said when can you come do it? I told her as soon as I finish here since she did not have any water.  People who have no water are our priority.  We got the job because we were not as pricy as the other guys and we sounded nice on the phone, atleast that's what I was told.  We came out and found that they had a piece of property that had a well on it but the pump was bad.  We replaced the pump and got them into water that evening.  Something that they did not think about was that before you buy a piece of property you may want to have the well checked out before you show up and have no water.  Because to add insult to injury not only did we have to replace the pump but the pressure tank had rusted out on the bottom and water just gushed out.  The good think was we were able to get their motor home filled with water until the next day when we brought a new tank.  You may want to call your water well service company or if you don't have one call us at (940) 389-6850 and we will come check out your well and get you the right parts and get your water going.

A friend of mine called me and told me that I needed to go out to a house of some folks who had no water pressure.  When we arrived we found that their pump was running but had not pressure and would build no pressure, very little water was coming out.  The first thing we did was to lower the pump to see if it was in enough water but there was no change so that told me that they must have either a hole in one of their couplings or the pump was worn out.  We knew that it was not the pump since it was replaced only 11/2 years prior so we pulled the pump and found that sure enough there was a small hole in the coupling that kept the pressure tank from filling up and providing enough pressure in the house.  If you think this could be a problem then call your water well service company or call us at (940) 389-6850 so we can help.

We had a family call us saying that they had pressure then lost it and had moved the handle on the on their pressure switch to get it on again.  We came out and found that they had two problems.  One was that their pressure switch was bad.  They had the kind that had a lever on the side and it kept getting stuck and would either stay open or stay closed and in addition to that they also had a bad pressure tank.  We checked the air in it while it was empty and it only had about 12 lbs of air in it and that is an indicator of a bad tank.  We changed out the pressure switch and the tank and everything has been ok since then.  If you are having pressure problems you will want to call your water well service company or you can call us at (940) 389-6850 and we can come out to find the problem and fix it.  If you end up having a bladder tank that gets water logged it can make your pump short cycle or cycle rapidly and it will burn up your pump prematurely just like the one we found today, it is only 4 years old but has burned up already.  The good news is that the pump is still under warranty, the bad news is that the homeowner must pay the labor for the pump to be pulled.  If you are experiencing your pump coming on and shutting off within seconds please call us so we can check it out, you could be saving yourself a lot of money in the long run.

We had one of our customers call with a water well problem, they said that they had water coming from their well house so they shut off their water and when we got their we found a hole in their galvanized tank.  You could see some old small holes that had plugged themselves but the hole was on the back side of the tank.  We were able to change out the tank and get the water going again.  Now the reason I'm writing this is to inform you about your tank.  It is good to check it to see if you can spot any small rust stains that may indicate a hole in the tank.  If you find one of these it is time to save a little money and call your water well service company or you can call us at (940) 389-6850 and we can come and change your tank for you.  But, please don't wait until your garage or other important piece of property is flooded before you call, the water damage is not worth the wait.  You will see the cancer on the tank so you will know what to look for or you can go to our youtube video and see what someone else's looks like at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsdMRlL3MlE
